If you have a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding, kidney disease, or allergies, you should speak to a doctor before taking cuprofen. The medication should also be used with caution in people who are 65 years or older. Cuprofen may interact with other medications, so it is important to tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking. You must also inform your doctor about your pregnancy or breastfeeding status before using Cuprofen. Do not take Cuprofen if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
It is important that you follow the instructions given by your doctor, or read the information on the product leaflet when self-medicating. Cuprofen should be taken orally and is only suitable for short-term treatment of pain. If you have a stomach upset, you may take the medication with food or milk. If you are using the liquid form of this medication, shake the bottle well before each dose. Measure the dose carefully using a special measuring cup or spoon provided. The recommended dose for children above 12 years is usually 400 mg every 4-6 hours as needed, up to 1200 mg per day. Cuprofen should not be taken for more than 10 days unless directed by a healthcare provider.
The active ingredient in Cuprofen is ibuprofen. The inactive ingredients are lactose, titanium, methylcellulose, talc, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium, and dioxide, Erythrosine Aluminium lake.
