Cialis tablets are a popular, long-lasting treatment for men's health in treating erectile dysfunction. Often labelled 'the weekend pill,' the medicine is a prescription-only treatment packaged in 10mg & 20mg tablets. How Cialis Works

Cialis contains tadalafil which belongs to the group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. Following sexual stimulation, Cialis relaxes the blood vessels in the penis, allowing the flow of blood to the area. Cialis will not help those not suffering from erectile dysfunction. The effectiveness of any erectile dysfunction drug can vary, therefore, if taking Cialis doesn't work the first time it might work more effectively the next. Doctors advise trying all forms of erectile dysfunction drugs 8 times before giving up. Men need to be sexually aroused to get an adequate erection.

Cialis Warnings

If you suffer from any of the conditions below, let your prescriber know so they can advise if Cialis is suitable for you:
  • Heart problems and blood pressure.
  • Heart attack or stroke within the last six months.
  • Liver or kidney disease.
  • Hemophilia.
  • Sickle cell anemia or leukemia.
  • Physical deformity of the penis.
  • Retinitis pigmentosa.
  • Stomach ulcers.
Once-a-day dosing of 2.5mg tadalafil both for the treatment of erectile dysfunction or benign prostatic hyperplasia is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment. You should limit your alcohol intake when taking Cialis, as it can affect your ability to get an erection and might temporarily lower your blood pressure.

The recommended dose is 2.5mg taken once a day at approximately the same time of day

Cialis Ingredients

Cialis tablets are made of the active ingredient tadalafil at a 10mg or 20mg strength. Each tablet also contains microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate, hypromellose, triacetin, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide yellow (E172) & talc.
