Voltarol Rapid Tablets Warnings

Some people MUST NOT take Voltarol Tablets. Talk to your doctor if:
  • you think you may be allergic to diclofenac sodium, aspirin, ibuprofen or any other NSAID, or to any of the other ingredients of Voltarol Tablets.
  • you have now, or have ever had, a stomach (gastric) or duodenal (peptic) ulcer, or bleeding in the digestive tract (this can include blood in vomit, bleeding when emptying bowels, fresh blood in faeces or black, tarry faeces)
  • you have had stomach or bowel problems after you have taken other NSAIDs
  • you have severe heart, kidney or liver failure
  • if you have established heart disease and/or cerebrovascular disease e.g. if you have had a heart attack, stroke, mini-stroke (TIA) or blockages to blood vessels to the heart or brain or an operation to clear bypass blockages
  • if you have or have had problems with your blood circulation (peripheral arterial disease)
  • you are more than six months pregnant

Voltarol Rapid Tablets Product Directions

  • For adults, 100-150mg divided into two or three doses is the recommended daily dose. Milder cases usually require 75-100 mg daily in two or three divided doses.
  • An initial dose of 50 mg should be taken at the first sign of an impending migraine attack. In the event that relief does not occur after 2 hours after the first dose, a further dose of 50 mg may be taken. The dose may be increased by 50 mg every 4-6 hours if necessary, up to a maximum of 200 mg per day.
  • For children over 14 years of age, the recommended daily dose is 75-100 mg divided into two or three doses. Voltarol Rapid tablets are not recommended for children under 14 years of age

Voltarol Rapid Tablets Ingredients

  • Active Ingredient: Each tablet contains 50 mg of the active ingredient, diclofenac potassium.
  • Inactive Ingredients: Other ingredients are silica, calcium phosphate, magnesium stearate, maize starch, sodium starch glycollate, povidone, microcrystalline cellulose, red iron oxide (E 172), macrogol, sucrose, talc and titanium dioxide (E 171).

Voltarol Rapid Tablets Side Effects

Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including:
  • signs of kidney problems
  • symptoms of heart failure
  • unusual tiredness
  • unusual/sudden weight gain
This drug may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. Get medical help right away if you have any symptoms of liver damage, including:
  • nausea/vomiting that doesn't stop
  • loss of appetite
  • stomach/abdominal pain
  • yellowing eyes/skin
  • dark urine
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including:
  • fever
  • swollen lymph nodes
  • rash
  • itching/swelling
  • severe dizziness
  • trouble breathing
